Knight Library Second Floor Resources

Second Floor

The second floor of the University of Oregon Knight Library offers extensive resources for graduate students.

Cinema Studies Lab

In the northeast corner, the Cinema Studies Lab hosts a screening room open to the UO community, as well as a Mac computer lab.

22 Graduate Study Rooms are available for long-term reservation periods up to 13 weeks per year. Graduate students can book a room at the library Checkout/Information Desk on the first floor.

Quiet Area

The Quiet Area directly off the main staircase provides a naturally lit open space for studying. Periodicals are also available.

Half of the second floor is dedicated to the library’s Asian Collection, the largest collection of its kind in the state of Oregon.

Paulson Reading Room

Second floor north, accessible from the library’s main entrance, houses Special Collections and the University Archives within the Paulson Reading Room, which contains photograph collections and rare books. This room’s access is limited to registered users. In the same wing, rotating Special Collections exhibitions line the halls.

The second floor also provides desks, tables and study nooks available for all University of Oregon students.
